About Us

Delnova Materials, LLC is a materials innovation company based in Wilmington, Delaware. Founded by passionate polymer chemists, we provide custom services and proprietary products to support today’s needs of cutting-edge technological advancement.

We are a group of world leading talents in organic and polymer chemistry. The “Dream Team” of Delnova consists of over 100 chemists, including 30 Ph.D.’s, equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and modern tools. Delnova Materials is ready to serve your needs for new polymeric materials, from monomer to polymer synthesis. We don’t just prepare materials for you, though. We work with you as a team to solve your materials problems through our technology and know-how.

Our proprietary technology of functionalized bioabsorbable polymers enables traditional bioabsorbable polymers having chemical and biological functionality. These functionalized bioabsorbable polymers can form drug conjugates, can encapsulate compounds, and are capable of nanoparticle formation. This class of new materials opens a new horizon of applications of bioabsorbable polymers.

Project Manager
Dr. Steven Belina
Project Manager

Expertise: Inorganic Fluorine Chemistry, Gas-Phase Chemistry, Ionic Liquids, Flow Chemistry.

Steven Belina graduated from Clemson University with a Ph.D. in 2018, specializing in inorganic fluorine chemistry. His research interests lie within main-group chemistry, including exploration of the utility of the pentafluorosulfanyl (SF5) moiety. At Delnova Materials, Steven focuses on preparation of customized ionic liquids for customers. He also develops new synthetic methodologies, especially flow chemistry. These new synthetic methodologies are employed to prepare otherwise difficult-to-synthesize materials, or to ensure safe scale-up of various processes.
