Bioabsorbable Polymer Functionalization

Bioabsorbable Polymer Functionalization

Conventionally, bioabsorbable polymers are used for implantable medical devices, due to their biodegradability and physical/mechanical properties. Our preoperatory technology enables us to introduce reactive functionality into bioabsorbable polymers. This new class of bioabsorbable materials are capable of drug conjugation, as well as micelle and nanoparticle formation. They are highly desirable in targeted drug delivery due to precisely controlled release, and desired interaction with biosystems, micelles, and nanoparticle vehicles.
